Man Down!

I set of with my sponsor last night to street tune his car. We started around my neighborhood, but when traffic hit, we decided it would be safer to locate a less congested area.

So from Highland, we make our way West on the 30, North on the 215 and exit around University. Exiting behind us was a cop, so we decided to duck into the Arcco station just off to the left.

We leave the station and head North along a windy surface street when ahead we spy flashing lights and a fire truck. Also we see a Red Z that looks like it may have spun out.

We get a little closer and see the rear body kit is hanging and theres a downed tree.

Closer still and we see that it's not just a tree that got clipped, but an entire concrete light post. the passenger side wheels are broken off the A-arms and bent in/under the car and ...well you can imagine what the rest of it looked like.

The fire dude waves us around and past the scene and there are two guys that I don't recognize standing with their arms folded, smiling and looked otherwise unharmed.

Past the first truck we begin to discern how the accident happed: Judging by the skid marks of the exiting the corner the two guys were attempting a drift @ a fairly high rate of speed. The car spun about 180 degrees and slid into the light post + tree and came to a rest on the opposite side of the road.

The Z32 makes a great touring car, but it's not all that great as a drifter. (I know people have done it and done it well I'm just saying it's not all that easy to drift and keep the control what with the AWS, short wheel base and sheer weight)

Whoever you are, I'm glad to see you made it out okay. You car looks totaled though, sorry to see that. But be F'ing glad that you didn't kill your passenger or someone in the oncoming lane!
