Door panel removal

Here’s a how-to on removing your door panel for speaker, window problems, or any other reason you might want. This is for the 90-93 cause when they moved the seatbelts off of the doors I don’t know what the difference would be.

Tools needed – 14mm wrench (socket or open ended)
Flat head screwdriver
Phillips Screwdriver

Step 1
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/SpyderZ15/Picture001.jpg
Pop off the plastic cover off of the seat belt top with the flathead screwdriver.

Step 2
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/SpyderZ15/Picture002.jpg
Use the 14mm wrench to remove this bolt.
This is how the washers look like after removal. I took this pic as a reference so when I put it back together.

Step 3
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/SpyderZ15/Picture004.jpg
use flathead screwdriver to pop off this cover. Be gentle just for the simple fact of you don’t want to break it. DUH!!!

Step 4
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/SpyderZ15/Picture005.jpg
There should be a Phillips screw in this hole to remove, but there wasn’t one on mine. I have extra bolts so I’ll see if any of them fit.

Step 5
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/SpyderZ15/Picture006.jpg
Take off that cover now. It should come right off.

Step 6
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/SpyderZ15/Picture007.jpg
Remove these 2 bolts with a Phillips screwdriver.

Step 7
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/SpyderZ15/Picture008.jpg
Remove the 3 screws holding the trim piece in the middle of the door panel

Step 8
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/SpyderZ15/step8.jpg
Remove the 2 bolts on the front of the door.

Step 9
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/SpyderZ15/doorhandle.jpg
Pull out what I like to call the door doodads and use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the 2 screws. (This step is not applicable on the driver’s side. Instead on the driver’s side you need to take the 2 screws out of the window switch plate and remove that. Then remove the exposed Phillips screw.)

Step 10
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/SpyderZ15/step9.jpg
Remove the 2 screws deep into the bottom of the seatbelt guide. They are there just really in there.

Step 11
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/SpyderZ15/step10.jpg
Gently pry loose the outside of the door handle with the flathead screwdriver.

Step 12
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/SpyderZ15/step14.jpg
gently lift up on the door panel from the bottom and viola

Edit- Now some of these pics aren’t mine. Well like the last 4 cause my camera crapped out on me, but I will take actual pics and replace them within a week or 2.

Thanks Jerry. Like I said though step 8-12 aren't my pics, but when I reassemble the doors I will tke pics again. I have no idea why they didn't save in my camera, but oh well. Here's the reason why I took my panel off in the 1st place.
