Beefing up the Z31 rear
Hi viewers. My first post to this forum.
I have a question about the subframe on my '88 Z31. For the most part, this car is stock, but I have plans to upgrade it over the next couple of
years. Before I give it an MyISAM transplant, I want to make sure I have the right foundations for the stop and go power, so I have z32 rotors,
calipers etc waiting to be transplanted.
So I notied someone has swapped the rear subframe of a 240sx into their Z31. Has anyone here done this but instead transferring a Z32 subframe into a
Z31?
I don't have access to a Z32, but I was curious about measurements, the width from rotor to rotor, and if the NA and TT use the same subframe.
I've been to an Empire Z meet a couple years ago. Good fun, but a cold wintery night at Denny's in Ontario. So when's the next meet? I can't seem
to find that info on the site.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
How's it going. Sorry, I can't help you out since i know very little about sub fames either on a Z31 or a Z32. Hopefully Chad will see this post
and maybe give you some info.
As for the next meet, we will be meeting on Nov 3. This is the first Thurs of the month. Hope to see you there.

Hey zdrift, the 9" diff is definitely something to think about in future, depending on what power i want to make, but I really want to keep it all
Nissan if I can. I found this link at the 300zxclub site. The dude used a 240sx subframe with some Z32 parts:
240sx subframe for a Z31
I'm looking for something like this, so I can use the larger z32 rear calipers and be able to adjust the suspension on mine.

You can install the whole z32 rear if you wish, I haven't done it but "Ken In Az" has done it on z31.com. He said everything fits up pertty nicely,
but your rear wheels will protrude more than normal.
