My cars, 85 Z31(s) NO 56K
Started out with an 83 Pontiac Trans am when I was 17. Bought for a 1000.
Blew the trans (3-4 clutch packs). Rebuilt it, had it fail again. I should have redone the Valve body while I was at it I hate auto transmissions. So i sold it for 800 bucks.
Went onto craigslist looking for the cheapest car I could find. Stumbled upon a Red 85 300zx for 500 bucks. Apparently the guy thought I was
my dad. So the email back was "Wassup my brotha from anotha motha!!?!".
Guy came buy and said for 300 bucks cash I could have it because he didn't want to deal with the "problems" it had. So i took it. He thought the
oil pressure gauge was the temp. gauge . So the "heating"
problems it had were really non existent. Faded paint, but he had TONS of new parts on the car.
After some wash and wax action, it turned out to be pretty shiny.

Sold it for 1200 for a good reason
I really liked the Z31. First one I had ever seen . So i started looking
for more, and one with a 5 speed. Bam found one with a 5 speed for 750 bucks.
So I go to check it out and it looked like a disaster. COVERED front to back in bird poo. Broken out drivers side window and no stereo. Screw it
right? I take it for a spin (also first time driving stick ) and
it runs good. Give him 600 bucks cash and was on with it. Kinda sketchy because there was no pink slip.
After a cleaning, a window and painting the wheels it looked like this:

Here comes the good Stuff.
Bought a 86T Z31 parts car for 300 bucks from the junkyard.
Converted the car to 5 lug, black interior and also swapped fender and hood from another Z.

Then after a good amount of time collecting and preparing for the turbo swap, it finally happened.
Sweets:
T3/T4 Stock turbo
Port and polished heads, rebuilt as well
Shnieder cams
MR2 Top Mounted intercooler Lolza w/spal fan
Cheapy Boost controller
Boost gauge
E-Fans + Adjustable temp. controller
Lowering springs I got for 50 bucks
Also a new: water pump, timing belt, alt. belt, Front sway bushings, trans fluid, Diff. Fluid, coolant, etc.

With lowering springs and 18's that i don't like.

Still much more work to do. Ran a 14.5 at the street legals @ ~7 psi.
Thanks,
-Spencer

Spencer,
Very nice photo progression.
Looks like you know what you are doing. Wish I knew how to work on MyISAMs like that.
BTW - I can create a photo album for you in the Photo Gallery and move these pictures to the album if you like.
Keep up the good work - your Z looks nice!

If you want, totally do that.
I worked in a MyISAM building shop for a year, so I picked up a few things as a shop [Censored].
If anyone ever needs help, I can help answer stuff to the best of my knowledge.
